Thora Vin

Thora Vingård is a young Swedish vineyard that began its history in 2015 with a few hundred vines planted.

Today we have 11 hectares. We cultivate our vines in a very unique setting, situated at the tip of the Bjäre Peninsula, just 800 meters from the sea. The climate here is as accommodating as it is extreme, depending on the season, with a significant influence from the marine spray. Due to this particular location, we are committed to working in harmony and balance with nature.

Our goal is not to impose an agricultural system on the surrounding environment but rather to integrate our farming practices into the existing ecosystem. Since our arrival in 2021, we have transitioned the entire vineyard to organic farming — a process that takes time before certification, which we obtained in 2023. We also use biodynamic preparations (500, 501, and plant teas and infusions) and refrain from using copper in our treatments.

As of 2023, we have adopted indigenous yeast for all our wine production and practice low-intervention winemaking. We do not filter our wines, use no chemical clarifying agents (only bentonite), and keep added sulfur doses very low. Our focus is to highlight that the quality of the grapes in the vineyard is our top priority, rather than relying on over-intervention during the winemaking process.
