Raeburn Fine Wines are a family owned wine importer based in Edinburgh and London, operating since the early eighties. Our focus is on buying serious wine from the middle to top end of French and Italian wineries, and a few beyond. Working directly with many of the world's top winemakers, we are conversant with their philopsophies, methodology and qualities. This makes us aware of how other wineries compare in the glass, and in value. Of the ~220 producers we ship from (excluding Bordeaux GCCs), over 55% farm according to organic &/or biodynamic principles, (half with certification, half without.) A further 37% are involved in sustainable agriculture as a minimum, and 3% are from a mixture of sources. In 2017 we listed our ⓋVegan compatible wineries, after many requests: over 55% comply. Re sulphite/SO2 levels, we applaud modest usage, deplore high levels, and generally avoid zero-added due to risk of mousiness (bacterial infection.) Some of our exclusive RAW Wine compliant producers, many of whom have done RAW before, include: Kirrenbourg (Alsace), Moulin Peylabrie (Bordeaux Right Bank), Olivier Jouan (Cote de Nuits), Moulin aux Moines (Cote de Beaune), Jean-Marc Vincent (Santenay), Alain Hasard (Cote Chalonnaise), Dutraive (Fleurie), Mee Godard (Moulin a Vent), Peggy Buronfosse & Pignier (Jura), Sebastien Riffault (Sancerre), Ray-Jane (Bandol), Brovia (Barolo), Podere Il Santo (Lombardia), Dalzocchio (Trentino), Duline (COF), Gravner (Collio), Carnasciale (Tuscany), La Porta di Vertine (Chianti Classico), Soldera & Stella di Campalto (Montalcino), Il Sanguinetto (Vino Nobile), Terre di Macerato (Emilia Romagna), Praesidium (Abruzzo), de Conciliis (Campania), Contrade di Taurasi (Campania), Calabretta & Cornelissen (Etna), Esencia Rural (La Mancha), Basserola (Cava), DuMOL (RRV), Powell & Son (Barossa). One of our roles is that of traditional stockholder. We have large, impeccably stored stocks, many bought at old cost prices and exchange rates, lying in our 12th Century stone cellars The Vaults of Edinburgh, and LCB Tilbury London. We can therefore pass on some amazing values &/or margin potential. 99% of our wines are shipped from the producer, and therefore cannot be fake.
