Makharebeli Winery

Winery Makharebeli was established by two friends in 1999 and since then, with the growth of their families, the number of vineyard caretakers increased (today they have seven children each, who are involved in the process of winemaking). Vineyard is located in Kakheti, Mukuzani and Vazisubani microzone, on Alazani Valley, from where we get amber Rkatsiteli and unique purple Saperavi. The vineyard of Rkatsiteli-Mtsvane is spread over 1,5 hectare and Saperavi is about 0,5 hectare. Our wine is natural, treated only with Bordeaux mixture and sulfur, without herbicides and is not being irrigated; we use horses as well as tractors. We have our vines made of 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 harvests. Winery Makharebeli is a member of NWA (Natural Wine Association) since 2019 and our wine, which is processed in Kvevri - located in our own cellar in Tbilisi, is being sold in the best wine stores of the city.
