Joé Chandellier

I farm organically 7ha in the small village of Souvignargues in the Gard department. The grapes I grow are Shiraz, Grenache, Cinsaut, Carignan, Aramon and Grenache blanc. The soils are mainly sandstone. All the blocks are surrounded by forest which give them a great balance in terms in biodiversity. Then, no insecticides and herbicides are used. I want and I do harvest only the healthiest fruits. Only way, for me, to get the best of the terroir out of the wine afterwards. In the cellar all the hand harvested grapes are processed by gravity until bottling. No incomes are used except a tiny amount of sulphur (15ppm) after malolactic fermentation and/or prior to bottling.
