Gilberries

In 2018 (after having spent 6 fuzzy and energic years in Budapest) we decided to move to the Tokaj wine region. Upon arrival we just fell in love with the region and decided to start building our own family winery. 

With 0,5 hectare in 2018 we produced 1000 bottles, while in 2019 we grew our vines -resulting in 3000 bottles- on 0,9 hectare. In 2020 we grew to 1,2 ha and bottled 9000 wines, by 2024 we own 3 ha. These numbers mean a lot of work and humility to us.

Horrified by the environmental problems around us, we move onto the most eco-friendly methods little by little. By planting wild flowers-, and leaving the grass grow between our rows we support the biodiversity of the soil. We are on the way to becoming an approved organic winery. Since 2022 we grow our grapes 100% organic and make natural wines. Our production is around 5000 bottles/year.

We grow Furmint, Hárslevelű, Sárgamuskotály, Kabar, Zéta and are eager to move onto more resistent types. 

Natural wine making shows the real beauty of world, letting us learn from nature what it is capable of, if we let it live. We’ve been called garage winemakers a few times. Since then, we are proud of this label, still we work with the highest possible attentiveness and clarity.  Wine and grapes is a lifestyle that defines our everyday life and family. I honestly believe that by drinking our products, not only we feel there is more in the bottles than simply wine: joy, love of life, exciting conversations and efforts to create great things.
