We are Equarantacinque, a small farm born in 2024 among the Umbrian hills, between Perugia and Terni. Two partners, Giulio and Matteo, two different paths but one passion in common: wine as an expression of place, season, and vineyard work. Giulio comes from the restaurant world and years of experience in natural wine; Matteo is an entrepreneur who chose to get his hands back in the soil—partly out of passion, partly out of instinct. We decided to join forces and start from three hectares of vineyards, farmed simply and sustainably, with no heavy treatments—just minimal copper and sulfur, plenty of manual work, and constant care for the balance of the vines. We’re not chasing trends or labels. We work with spontaneous fermentations, no fining, very low or no added sulfites. We look for wines that are clean yet alive, that evolve in the glass and tell the story of where they come from. In our first year, we produced six wines. Here are the first four currently bottled: BUCRANIO Trebbiano, Grechetto, Malvasia A skin-contact white that plays on the balance between structure and freshness. Vineyard treatments: minimal copper and sulfur 7 days skin maceration on mechanically destemmed grapes, blended with a share of Grechetto pressed directly 6 months aging in steel Minimal potassium metabisulfite added during racking and pre-bottling POR PINO Pinot Grigio A wine with a full aromatic profile, gentle tannins, and a final saline note. Vineyard treatments: minimal copper and sulfur 5 days skin maceration on mechanically destemmed grapes, with 1/3 whole-cluster fermentation 6 months aging in steel Minimal potassium metabisulfite added during racking and pre-bottling TINTO Sangiovese A quick vinification for a dark, vibrant light red, agile, but far from simple. Vineyard treatments: minimal copper and sulfur 1 night maceration on crushed and mechanically destemmed grapes 7 months aging in steel Minimal potassium metabisulfite added during racking and pre-bottling PÉTARD Merlot A juicy, light red—easy to drink, with a rustic touch. Vineyard treatments: minimal copper and sulfur 3 days skin maceration: partly hand-destemmed, partly whole-cluster 7 months aging in steel Minimal potassium metabisulfite added during racking and pre-bottling For us, the idea is not only to make wine, but to build relationships: with those who drink it, those who share its story, and those who pour it. That’s why, for now, we reach out directly to wine shops, restaurants, and independent distributors—curious people looking for real bottles, wines that are clean yet alive. We’re just at the beginning of our journey, and we’d love to share it.
