The Cantalapiedra family descends from generations of vinegrowers based in the village of La Seca. This small, dusty town of about 1,000 inhabitants, located half an hour southwest of the industrial hub of Valladolid, is widely regarded as the heart of the Rueda appellation, with an impressive concentration of renowned producers. While records of the family's viticultural activity date back to the 19th century, the origins of the current estate trace back to 1949, when the patriarch Heliodoro planted his first vineyard plot, known locally as a Majuelo - at just 15 years old. For many years, his son Isaac worked alongside him, and together they built a 20-hectare estate that is now certified organic. In the past, most of their grape harvest was sold to larger wineries in the region. It was only with the third generation, following Heliodoro's passing and under the leadership of Isaac's son Manuel - that the family established its own cellar, releasing its first vintage in 2014.
