Stijn and Tineke bring the authentic Portugal to Belgium with Atlântico.
After a career as a sommelier in Michelin-starred restaurants including De Karmeliet and Hof van Cleve, and being named Belgium’s Best Sommelier in 2003, Stijn set off on a new path. Together with his partner Tineke, he founded Atlântico, an import house focused on Portuguese wine and small-batch artisan crafts.

For more than twenty years, they has criss-crossed Portugal in search of boutique growers who work with passion and a deep respect for people and the land. Their shared mission: to bring honest wines and traditional crafts to Belgium, honouring heritage and craftsmanship.

Beyond importing, they also run their own wine bar, bARMAZÉM, where their discoveries come to life in the glass. It’s the perfect place to experience Portugal’s warmth and flavour without leaving Belgium.

Stijn is also Riedel’s ambassador in Belgium and a selector with The Fine Wine Gang. With Atlântico, bARMAZÉM, and their many adventures, Stijn and Tineke turn their expertise, and their love for Portugal, into a story that continues to inspire a wide audience.

Na een carrière als sommelier in sterrenrestaurants zoals De Karmeliet en Hof van Cleve, en de titel van Beste Sommelier van België in 2003, sloeg Stijn een nieuwe weg in. Samen met zijn partner Tineke richtte hij Atlântico op, een importhuis dat zich toelegt op Portugese wijn en ambachtelijke producten in kleine oplages.

Al meer dan twintig jaar doorkruisen ze Portugal op zoek naar kleinschalige wijnmakers die werken met passie en met respect voor mens en natuur. Hun gezamenlijke missie: authentieke wijnen en traditionele ambachten naar België brengen, met eerbied voor erfgoed en vakmanschap.

Naast hun importactiviteiten baten ze ook hun eigen wijnbar uit, bARMAZÉM, waar hun ontdekkingen in het glas tot leven komen. Dé plek om de warmte en smaak van Portugal te beleven, zonder België te verlaten.

Stijn is daarnaast Belgisch ambassadeur voor Riedel en selecteur bij The Fine Wine Gang. Met Atlântico, bARMAZÉM en hun vele avonturen brengen Stijn en Tineke hun expertise, en hun liefde voor Portugal, samen in een verhaal dat een breed publiek blijft inspireren.
