THE MANIFESTO Agricola Conti Alessi — Villafrati We formed our vision in the silence of garages, following our instinct and exploring the boundaries of wine between Sicily and the lands of Turkey. Today, in 2026, that journey becomes an anchor. We do not look for the geometric perfection of the glass, but for the truth of the vine and the soil. This is our pact with the land of Villafrati and with those who drink our wines: 1. A Closed Supply Chain is our Freedom From the first spring bud to the final cork, we do everything ourselves. Managing a completely closed supply chain means never outsourcing quality, refusing compromises, and putting our own faces behind every single bottle. 2. Respect for Natural Winemaking Natural wine is not a trend, it is an act of subtraction. We ban synthetic chemicals, industrial yeasts, and technological manipulations. We guide the must without ever forcing it. The grape must be able to express itself for what it truly is. 3. The Biodiversity of Massal Selection We reject the homogenization of industrial clones. We chose the hardest path: selecting and propagating our best old vines to preserve the historical soul and biodiversity of Inzolia, Perricone, and Catarratto. 4. Listening to the "Ficilignu" Our vineyards take root in hills of marl and gypsum. We practice summer dry-farming to push the roots deep in search of water. We apply the Simonit pruning technique to a single-sided Guyot system to protect the plants' life force. The soil speaks, we listen. 5. Matter and TimeWood and terracotta are our guardians. Chestnut for the bold reds; acacia, terracotta, and Clayver ceramic for the purity of the whites and the complexity of the orange wines. We only use materials that let the wine breathe without altering its identity. We do not manufacture wine. We cultivate the land, we guard time, we bottle the terroir.
