Additional Information

VALFACCENDA ROSSO (Roero Rosso from Nebbiolo grape 100% / 8.900 total bt). This year has given us a perfumed Nebbiolo, which is characteristic of the wines from our hills, but also complex, with deeper and darker notes. In the mouth, it’s rich, dense and full-bodied. The grapes from the Valfaccenda vineyards (Loreto and Mompellini MGA, sandy and loam/sandy soil) and from Santo Stefano Roero (San Grato MGA, sandy soil), have been harvested at full maturity, destemmed and macerated for 3 weeks. Followed by 1 year of ageing in big barrels and one year in bottle. This has resulted in a Roero DOCG which is perfumed and open on the nose, vivid and full in the mouth.
something
Valfaccenda is Roero. Valfaccenda is Luca with Carolina. Valfaccenda is Luca with Carolina in Roero. He is an oenologist, she is a graphic designer, together they created in 2010 this wine project that involves the renovation of the old grandfather’s farmhouse and the restoration of the Arneis and Nebbiolo family vineyards. Valfaccenda is the name of the place where Luca was born and where today his vines grow, synonymous of genuine and artisan territoriality. Here in the valley that connects Canale to Cisterna d’Asti, we are in the heart of Roero, the land that inhabits the left bank of the Tanaro river. The soils are sandy, the slopes steep, the altitudes reach 400 meters and the gaze is lost in a landscape marked by the vertical cuts of the Rocche, where the viticulture is alternated with woods, hazel groves, fruit trees. Roero is rock’n roll: multi-faceted, strenuous, unconventional. In our wines we try to faithfully translate the vineyards we work, seeking the elegance of the sand and avoiding the unnecessary… This is the Roero that we like! In mutual agreement with Enrico and Alberto, two friends also engaged in their respective small wine-producing realities, Luca and Carolina gave birth to SoloRoero, a collective founded on cardinal principles such as the exclusive cultivation of local varieties, Arneis and Nebbiolo, sustainable practices based on the principles of organic farming , the interpretation of Arneis as a white wine for aging and not just ready to drink.
