something
I am Guido Zampaglione, native from Napoli, settled in 2003 with the Tenuta Grillo in Gamalero in Monferrato, Piemonte. I loved this warm microclimate inside a colder region and enjoy producing natural wines with no concession, wines also linked to the Piemonte culture with their potential for very long ageing. Travelling often to Campania to see family and passioned by local grapes and terroir, I started a new project with Il Tuffiello and the production of orange wines from 100% Fiano. I planted a vineyard in Irpina on a steady slope at 600 meters high. Irpina represents a colder microclimate inside a warm region. Recently, the acquisition of a small estate in Liguria, brought me to one new terroir and another local grapes with Lo Scimiscià. Today, I gather these three independant projects around ZAM.Organica, born from an organisational need. Not forgetting that the seeds that gave birth to it must be searched deeper into the ground! The three places where the family farms are located give life to Z.A.M.Organica: Zampaglione Agricoltura Marginale Organica Zampaglione means family and handicraft activity carried out mainly by the family and a few highly motivated people. Marginal Agriculture means “not decisive in numbers” but in passion, tradition, added value, quality understood as territoriality and characterization. Marginal could be defined as the agriculture of Monferrato, Alta Irpinia and Tigullio “not decisive in numbers” but Marginal Value can be decisive. Organic because we decided to work an agriculture without chemistry. Organic represents transformation to our structure and our values: high craftsmanship, without chemicals, a great stimulus, a lot of work and a “semi-impossible” dream to create a group of people who share values, objectives and stimuli. Zam Organica collaborates with Beni di Busonengo Azienda Risicola in Baraggia followed by my wife Igiea.
