Temi is a community and social enterprise based in Gremi village in the Republic of Georgia. About 70 people with different backgrounds and abilities live and work in Temi. Our life is based on the belief that all human beings are equal, that everyone can contribute and that each one has the right to reach his or her full potential. Located in the famous Kindzmarauli Grand Cru microzone, we produce high quality organic wine from the endemic grape varieties Rkatsiteli and Saperavi on 6.7 ha of land. The wine is fermented and stored in kvevris, traditional Georgian clay vessels buried in the soil. The wine is certified organic by CAUCASCERT Ltd, a Georgian company accredited by the German accreditation body DAkkS according to the requirements of ISO-65. The certificate is valid in the whole EU and is also in compliance with Caucascert’s own standard which is equivalent to EC regulations 834/2007 and 889/2007. Over the last few years, Temi’s wine has been recognized for its excellence in Georgia and abroad. Temi wine was exhibited at the “Biofach” in Nuremberg and “GrüneWoche” in Berlin. At the 2014 and 2015 Wine and Spirits Exhibition “WinExpo Georgia” our Rkatsiteli wine was awarded the gold medal and in 2013 and 2018 it won silver medals. We have exported our wine to different countries including Germany, Norway and Japan. Besides wine, Temi produces fruits, vegetables, medicinal herbs and cereals, honey, fruit juice and other processed food as well as furniture and handicrafts. We also have a restaurant and offer several activities for tourists such as wine tastings, kvevri openings and Churchkhela making (traditional Georgian sweet made of grape juice and walnuts).
