Additional Information

Our philosophy The land teaches us about hard work, sacrifice and the importance of time and its rythmns, while plants teach us about hope, light and company; in our climate, we encounter change and movement and fear, and in people, friendship, strength and unity. Nothing happens by chance and nothing is a given, everything is based on syntony and harmony... to be part of a moment does not mean to create it, but rather to bear witness to it.
Our vineyards are in the Enza Valley, to be precise in the DOC-certified hills of Scandiano and Canossa. Land recovered from the Enza river over the centuries, full of limestone, clay and gravel; the area is called “Braglie” (Braje), an old Longobard word that meant areas near to rivers that were therefore suitable for the growing of grapes and foraging. Our natural patrimony in this area are our fields, the nearby hills, the woods, the Enza and the animals we find here, whereas the vineyard and its fruits are our “contract” with nature: that which we “steal” from the soil, we later give back in the form of chopped shoots and grass, and pressed and scattered grape residues. All our activity is based on this respect for nature, working delicately and carefully to ensure that we preserve and conserve it. We believe that biodynamics is the correct philosophy that expresses that care and attention.
