2012-13 “Charm” Abouriou Early Burgundy, 100% Abouriou, Homestead Sonoma County
14.4%
Biodynamic, regenerative, composted mulch farming. Abouriou is a Basque variety. These gnarly, ancient vines, are the last remaining block of Abouriou in the USA. The vines are head-pruned and eek out a very small crop load each year, resulting in a dark, extracted and ripe, red wine. Grapes are stomped with 100% whole cluster and allowed to soak for a 7 day maceration. Wild Fermentation occurs naturally. Then two years in neutral barrels, sur lie the entire time - never racked, then bottled unfined/unfiltered.
