FARMING Peach Tree Lane Vineyard is owned and operated by Miles Garrett and his family in their 60 acre property located in Willow Creek, CA. Willow Creek is a small community in the Trinity River Valley, a wild & mountainous region. Warm inland air during the day and cool ocean breezes at night and a long growing season make for optimum ripening while maintaining good, crisp acidity. The vineyard is perched on a south/southwest facing hillside at 900 feet elevation, on an ancient river shoulder. Peach Tree Lane Vineyard has been farmed organically and certified by CCOF since the beginning (year 2000) when David Winnett, previous owner, planted all the grapes. When in 2016 Miles&family adquired the vineyard, he kept the same type of organic farming but also made few changes. Miles now dry farms the vines, plants cover crop and allows the farm animals (donkeys, pigs, chickens, etc.) into the vineyard at certain times to graze. They are now working on some new varieties and slowly growing the vineyard. All vineyard work is done by them, friends, family & volunteers and one full time employee.
VINIFICATION Whole cluster pressed with no skin contact. Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel barrels and gravity bottled. No filtration and no other modifications or additions. No SO2 addition.
