Additional Information

Moscato della Torre: This is the vineyard of white Moscato exposed to the West by spurred cordon, on limestone soil at 50 meters above sea level. The low yield, the light, the winds and the warmth of the place give the Moscato Bianco grapes an original typicality that orbits on the fragrance and finesse. The grapes, harvested and well ripe, are placed on the racks of our baglio, in white stone of Modica, giving the right light and heat of the month of August, that is necessary for the drying of the bunches. It is vinified with the skins, it ferments in steel tanks, and the fermentation is interrupted by the use of cold temperature. It matures in steel tanks until spring and ages in bottle for 3 months before being put on the market. Sweet wine, delicate, well balanced, never cloying. This product does not contain any oenological additive. Yield in wine 18 hl / ha

MARABINO was created in 2002, by the division from Natura Iblea, an organic fruit and vegetable company owned by the family and estabilished in 1996. In the beginning we only owned the vineyards and not the cellar so we relied on other facilities to make wine for our product. In 2007 we finalized the building of our new cellar next to our vineyards in the Buonivini district in the territory of Noto. My name is Pierpaolo Messina and since 2008 I manage the Marabino winery. After completing my university studies in Siena, and thanks to the experience and knowledge of Tuscan producers who applied biodynamic farming, when I went back to Sicily I was ready to manage the company. I immediately began the journey that today leads us to produce natural wines ( free of oenological products) from biodynamic agriculture. Today we produce 100,000 bottles of wine from 27 hectares of vineyards, and our wines are exported to many countries. Marabino cultivates orchards, olive groves and vineyards entirely with organic biodynamic farming, and makes wines only from its own grapes: Moscato di Noto, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Nero d’Avola for red and rosé wines. Our mission is to fully understand, through an expanded vision, the nature events, respecting and protecting the correlations and balances of this habitat, to produce wines without using synthetic chemicals neither in the vineyard nor in the cellar, so that wine is an expression of the territory where they are born.
