Rkatsiteli-Mtsvane (5 Months Skin Contact), 2021

Manavi Wines - located in a small village Manavi, Eastern Georgia. As for now we’ve got 3.5 ha of vineyards in so called “Microzone”, which is famous for production of very distinctive fruit driven, very flavourful grape variety Mtsvane. Apart from Mtsvane we also grow Rkatsiteli and a little bit of Sapertavi. Grapes are harvested by hand in a small boxes. Vinification happens in a clay vessels (traditional Georgian amphoras called “Qvevri”) buried in to the ground. These are from 1 to 2 tone capacity vessels that help wine to maintain stable temperature, breath, effectively purify itself from sediments while fermenting and resting. No easts or any other additives are used. White grapes are made both with and without skin contact. Skin contact can tike as long as 6 months. This adds to our wines amber colour and very distinctive character. Wines made on pure juice are light, bright and fruity. Our wines taste quite different even for those knowing Georgian wine taste profiles. So take a sit, relax and enjoy what nature gave us. Cheers!
