Founded in 1978 by Ruggero Brunori , Le Sincette is a Demeter Certified farm and winery located in Picedo di Polpenazze del Garda, a small hamlet in the Valtènesi area, on the western shores of Lake Garda, in Lombardy. The morainic soils of glacial origin and the mitigating effect on the weather of the nearby Garda Lake (the largest in Italy), have created the ideal conditions to grow wine grapes, as well as Olive trees (this is one of the northernmost area for this culture) and other fruits. Most importantly, Valtènesi is considered the home of Groppello Gentile, a native grape of the area, and shares with other areas around the Lake Garda the tradition of producing “Chiaretto”, the local version of rosè wine. Andrea Salvetti, brother in law of the Founder, manages the Farm and Winery, overseeing both the agricultural and wine-making activities, with the main goal of producing wine, olive oil and other produces that are wholesome, genuine, free from any chemical intervention and as respectful of the Environment as possible. Andrea first introduced the biodynamic principles in 1997, thanks to Jaques Mell. Demeter and Organic Certifications were obtained respectively in 2008 and 2012. All wines at Le Sincette are made exclusively from estate grown, biodynamic/organic certified, hand-picked grapes. Likewise, all fermentations are carried over with native yeasts, with the objective of preserving the true character of the varieties and their interaction with the local Environment. Le Sincette owns and manages 11 acres of vineyards.
