Additional Information

Scattered amongst the Garnacha vines planted in 1978, Luca identified and selected the Garnacha Peluda grapes. This variation of Garnacha Negra was widely planted before the phylloxera, but was abandoned as a varietal due to its lower yield and its slowness in ripening. This steady ripening is exactly what we are looking for in our wines, since it allows a better phenolic ripeness with the same alcoholic content. The grapes are fermented separately in clay amphorae and are subsequently aged in French 500 Litre barrels for 24 to 30 months.
