Local grape variety, crossed directly in our hometown 5-6 km away from the winery in 1916. 5-7 days of skin contact without skin fermentation. 11 months on the lees mostly in used oak, partly in stainless steel.

The estate is surrounded by a myth according to which Attila the Hun has killed Christian monks on our monopoly single vineyard site "Heiliger Butberg" in 454 AD. Afterwards in 746 AD, the holy Bonifatius planted the first vines on the estate and built a chapel in remembrance of that terrible deed. 1924 the estate was bought by our great-grandfather and is family owned in the 4th generation now.

Heiligenblut stands for sustainably produced, honest and alive wines.
