Vines planted in 1983 Suitable for Vegan and Vegetarian • Manual harvest • The grapes were de-stemmed and then left to macerate on their skins at a cold temperature, in stainless steel vat for 1 weeks • The must was pressed, after maceration with a pneumatic press. • Wild yeast fermentation with fresh local pine resin • Matured for 1.5 months in stainless steel • Naturall malolactic fermentation Retsina is a Greek traditional white wine with a long ancient history Tasting Note: Yellow-amber in colour with a citrusy and herbaceous nose with noticeable aromas of pine, well integrated tannins and acidity on a textured palate. WHY ‘RETSINA’? This word means ‘Resinated wine’. The word ‘Retsina’ is a protected Appellation with geographical origin and only applies to the region of the Attic Peninsula, and only involves the use of a grape indigenous to the Attic Peninsulathe Savatiano grape. Furthermore the pine resin comes from a pine tree that is indigenous to the Attic Peninsula. The species called Pinus Halepensis (Aleppo pine); pine resin has been known from very ancient times, to be an excellent preservative (it was first used by the Cretans in 1,700 BC to extend the life of wines) it has, also been used in pharmacology for since early times because of its excellent natural herbal properties).

Georgas Family is a BD wine grower and organic winemaker, located outside of the capital of Greece, Athens, in Spata. Spata located in the wine zone of Mesogaia at the region of Attica, which is the historical center of the Savatiano grape variety as well as the infamous Retsina wine, the resinated wine that dates back to ancient Greece. Speaking of tradition, Georgas 4th generation, traces their wine growing history to more than one century back.
