The 2021 Primitivo is made from dry farmed, unsprayed, and own-rooted vines. Primitivo is an Italian clone of Zinfandel, and the single vineyard source is Benguerel Family Vineyard in Kenwood CA,. These vines are farmed by Ross Cannard with a minimum of inputs and tractor work. Fermented by native yeast and bacteria, the wine was aged in neutral French Puncheons and barrels for 8 months. Minimal effective additions were limited to: filtered water (4%), tartaric acid (0.25g/L), and sulfur dioxide (30 ppm at bottling). Alcohol: 14.5%, pH: 3.5, TA: 7.2 g/L
