Additional Information

"Spontaneously fermented from pressed black currants and New York State honey, St. Crimson is wild-fermented for a full year in oak barrels. Delightfully drinkable, this tart and juicy off-dry mead can be enjoyed alone, or as the base of a Negroni or spritz cocktail.

Each slender glass bottle is silkscreened in-house and sealed with a glass cork. Produced in a limited edition."

Enlightenment Wines has been focusing on small batch meads made with wild yeast, foraged herbs, and locally sourced fruit and honey since 2009. These honey based wines are dry (not sweet), around 12% alcohol, barrel fermented and released seasonally. We have two production locations, one on a family farmstead in the Hudson Valley and the other in Bushwick Brooklyn. Honey’s is our tasting room, located next to our meadery and around the corner from RAW NY! You can purchase our meads directly from our website, join our CSA (Community Supported Alcohol club, and find us hosted by some of the finest restaurants and retail shops in New York.
