From the Grower
"Rosa is the « all but Chenin » version of LoireGold let’s say. I planted a Grolleau Noir (authentic, autoctonous grape) back in 2015, my first plantation. Rosa is composed mainly of this grape. We then blend some Chenin blanc in, and since 2021 some Cabernet Franc. I like it to be « champagne » style in the sense that it is NOT sweet and has an elegant , light rosé colour."

Additional Information

Please note that the 5 % pf Cabernet France in the blend are from a young vineyard I have rented since the harvest 2021 only and it has to undergo 3 years of conversion. 2021 being the first year, all the wine « looses » the organic/Demeter Label. From 2022 onwards these CF grapes are « in conversion to Demeter » and the whole blend, too. I’ve created the wine estate back in 2014 at Rochefort sur Loire. 100 % of my wines are elaborated with my own grapes , hand harvested with a local team I manage. and we started of organically from day 1. Then moved to Demeter. Our cellars are situated on the Loire River in an old farm building that we patiently renovate in a traditional manner. All first fermentations and malolactic are done via pied de cuve (levures&bacteries indigènes) . Our family (my husband, our 2 children 7 and 9 and me) live in the farm building, too. My vineyards are up to 80 years old and some of them, esp Le Carré du Puits have their soil worked by horse power. We also collaborate with local sheep farmers to have their sheep on our meadows & in the vineyards. I cultivate 8,5 hectares in total out of which 4,5 hectares of vines. We have the project to plant some new vineyards in the following years to move up to 6 ha. But not much further. We work with a faithful & motivated team of local seasonal workers (students, retirement, and other profiles available for seasonal work).
something
I created the Domäne back in 2014 in a little beautiful village called Rochefort sur Loire. We are a 1.5 hours train ride South West of Paris.. Organic agriculture from day 1 because I grew up like that!. It is a philosophy, a way of life. VIneyards sitting on top of the hill south of the Loire, looking down on this beautiful river and receiving a wonderful climate with some ocean influence (Atlantic just 1 hours away). Very superficial and stony soil. Special Terroir, schiste, quartz, volcanic stones, ...Dry farming and 100% hand harvest. Horse power and sheep too. Mainly Chenin blanc but a bit of red grapes : Cabernet France and Grolleau Noir. We then started the biodynamic way of cultivating our land. Demeter certification followed in 2020. We are a family winery and are working with local & very motivated staff. Our credo is to make elegant, pure wines with love and a lot of attention to the detail. I am very excited to meet everyone at Raw !! From Rochefort with Love 💚..
