Additional Information
This wine is a parcellar wine , "en Chinvre" is the name of the pot on the prestigious slopes of Montagnieu . An "elevage sur lies" for several months (to the end of the spring) rounds out the authentic character of Altesse grape.
About Domaine Yves Duport
We farm 10ha of vines in Bugey, the smallest wine producing region of France, located between the Rhône valley and Savoie. Our soils are varied: halk, clay and siliceous.
All our work in the vineyard is done by hand, we follow biodynamic practices in the vineyard and in the cellar, and our aim is to make wines that are true their terroir, using soft and gentle wine making techniques.
We are the third generation winemakers, we grow all the typical Savoie grape varietals: Mondeuse and Pinot for red wines, Chardonnay and Altesse for white wines.
Our range at the Raw Wine fair includes 7 wines.
Our "signature" cuvee is a Traditional Method called Originelle, which technique has been passed from my grand father to my father, and from my father to me. Our red wines all undergo barrel ageing to soften their tannins, the whites are aged in stainless steel and a lot of work is done with the lees ageing to allow for more complexity and texture. Recently, we started experimenting with Pet Nats ( a rosé made with Gamay) to challenge ourselves and bring some new, exciting new wines in our portfolio.
