Domaine Chandon de Briailles has been owned by the same family since 1834. Today it rests in the hands of sister and brother, Claude and François de Nicolay, the 7th generation of the family. Our vineyard is located in Savigny les Beaune a pretty village, just four kilometres from Beaune. The domaine possesses 14 hectares of vines on the following appellations: Les Villages Savigny-Lès-Beaune Les Premiers Crus Savigny-Lès-Beaune "Aux Fournaux" Savigny-Lès-Beaune "Les Lavières" Pernand-Vergelesses "Les Vergelesses" Pernand-Vergelesses "Île des Vergelesses" Aloxe-Corton "Les Valozières" Les Grands Crus Corton "Les Maréchaudes" Corton "Les Bressandes" Corton "Clos du Roi" Corton Blanc Corton-Charlemagne Our vines are grown both organically and bio-dynamically, excluding the use of synthetic products, weed-killers, pesticides, insecticides and fungicides. We also minimise sprays of sulphur and copper, replacing them with low fat milk and plant infusions. Thanks to our dedicated work, we are proud to have the rare and highly sought after Ecocert and Demeter certifications in the vineyards and cellars. Our philosophy is a holistic respect for life that interprets to balanced healthy grapes with the capacity to produce vibrant, pure and seductive wines. Coming from two mono-varietals (Pinot noir and Chardonnay); our wines strongly express all the authenticity of their terroir. We have huge respect for our environment and the quality of life within it. We consider it is our family's duty to protect this precious habitat for future generations. Our Grands Crus are cultivated in the traditional method with the use of our own ploughing horses that unpack and give oxygen to the soils. This allows the sub-soil micro-life beneath to help feed and give nutrients to our vines. Our wines are vinified and barrel aged in a classic process, closely following the bio dynamic rules. Only limited authorised doses of sugar and sulphur are allowed. We restrict unnatural variation of the wine in order to preserve the aromatic complexity and freshness emanating from the terroir. We trust our wines will provide you with a truly sensual and memorable experience.
