We are organically farming 5 hectares of old bush vineyards in Villafranca del Bierzo, with its grapes we elaborate our Pyjama that represents our view of Bierzo wines. We elaborate our wines by spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. We use vineyards at ‘least poor’ soils of our state to make the Pyjama. We leave around 2 kilos per plant and we do not use systemic treatments or mineral fertilizer. The 2020 vintage was marked by heat, and by the general human confinement that gave the vineyards a majestic silence. After a previous autumn with abundant rainfall, the winter arrived dry and warm. Almost without snowy days and with very few frosts, budding was too early. This was followed by a very dry spring with some episodes of rain in April. The summer, like the whole year, was also very hot, especially in July when we registered average daily temperatures much higher than the historical average. In August the nights began to cool down and the month ended with abundant rains that facilitated the end of ripening. The harvest time was overall short and quiet.
