Additional Information

Alcohol: 14.5% Bottle size: 75 cl - 1.5 L 35% Pinot Gris, 65% Gewurztraminer. The vines average age is 35-years This orange wine is a blend of 30% of the 8 months macereation Si Rose 2017 and 70% of the 8 days maceration Sirose 2018. Tasting Note: Si Rose is the result of the observation that the Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris grapes, given the global warming that Alsace is undergoing, find their limit in classic white wine making. I was therefore inspired by the experience of the Mediterranean countries, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, and Georgia, which historically, we have been able to vinify fleshy and powerful grape varieties in hot countries, to make fresh, gourmet and palatable wines. Their secret: macerated whites, making it an orange wine. The pinot gris and gewurtztraminer are macerated on the skins. The gewurtztraminer lends powerful aromas and the pinot gris adds a touch of pink color to this wine, but the final product is definitely an orange wine. This cuvée was originally inspired by Severine Peru formerly of Ten Bells in New York City and was an exclusive wine sold only there, but now is available for everyone to enjoy (in very small quantities of course).
something
The domain Christian Binner is located in the Alsatian heartland, close to the city of Colmar and the border to Germany and to Switzerland. The estate Binner has passed down the fine art of wine making from father to son since 1770. Our production is firmly based on organic and biodynamic values. We work without chemical products or pesticides in order to respect our environment and the fragile cycle of life.
