Additional Information

Château Limoux is a wine well balanced between freshness, tension and amplitude. It will be a perfect accompaniment to seafood as an aperitif, fine fish in a dish and sweet cheeses. The name of the cuvée, Château, reminds us of the history and the roots of Château de Gaure. A wine to celebrate with friends around souvenirs or new projects.

« In my painting I think I knew how to keep the simple mind of a child. Painting has always allowed me to escape to a better world, a world without preconceptions. My life has not always been a long calm river, ruptures and deaths have led me to express my sensitivity on paper, canvas, metal. Creative without limits, I painted a lot, carved without ever exposing all this work. Hundreds of work drawings have finally found shelter when we bought the Gaure domain and its 2,000 m2 of buildings. Chapel, wine cellar, tasting hall are all places to exhibit and create paintings. The artist who lies dormant in me, had to find a way to express myself, today the expression of my wines is a magnificent way to express my emotions. No matter the way to go, it seems essential to me to realize his dreams! » The story of Gaure goes through the ages. In the third century BC, one of the largest oppidums was founded by the Iberians. The Romans had chosen this unique place, true eagle’s nest overlooking the valley of the Aude. From the top of these hills, the whole region, from the Pyrenees to the Black Mountain (Massif Central) could be under control. Excavations made it possible to discover many vestiges of habitat, furniture, various pieces and amphorae. At the end of the Roman Empire, a villa and its outbuildings occupied the current location of the Château de Gaure. The vineyard is converted into organic farming since 2005 The diversity of the terroirs ensures a unique typicity to the wines of Château de Gaure In the greatest respect, Pierre Fabre cures its soils, facilitates the adaptation of the vine to its soil by mastering its foliar architecture and favors low yields This method of cultivation, associated with the poverty of the soils and the advanced age of the vines, makes it possible to obtain concentrated and aromatic grapes
