The 2021 Syrah from Spear Vineyards is a blend of 2 clones: Alban and 470.  Fermented with 20% whole cluster inclusion and wild yeast. It was aged for 10 month in neutral French oak barrels prior to bottling. The wine is unfined and unfiltered and no SO2 was added until bottling. The spicy and peppery aromas of this wine blend perfect with notes of black fruits and earthy flavors.  The wine has a medium body with silky tannins and a fresh and lasting finish due to the bright acidity.  if you want to have a seafood dish paired with a red, this is your wine! The mid-body and silky texture make this wine a perfect pairing for some flavorful fish stews such as cioppino or her french sister bouillabaisse.  Other options and pairings with the wine’s spicy and earthy notes would be a rosemary roasted lamb leg or a pasta dish with mushrooms.
