Additional Information
A frank character, determined and ready to fight.
This is the wine that feels most truly mine — as the name indicates, my instinct is the main ingredient.
An extremely local gem produced with innovative ideas, the Grignolino is a native vine variety of the Piedmont region. It is only cultivated in a small hilly area that includes a few small towns.
In this isolated wine cellar that once was property of King Vittorio Emanuele II, I thought it was apt to produce his favourite wine.
Istinto 2009 is vinified in steel tanks from overripe grapes, aged in full barrels for 3 years and in not-quite-full barrels for 2 years.
Istinto 2014 was also vinified in steel tanks and aged 18 months in a large wooden/oak barrel.
