From the Grower
"Brilliant straw yellow. On the nose the initially minerality give place to a delicate aromas of apricot, marzipan and honey. Citrus, herb and wildflower flavors flood the palate. Fresh with a light minerals and fruity finish."

something

Agricolavinica project started in 2007 to give identity to abandoned yet untouched and unconaminated land with ancient history of viticulture. Our vineyards are all located at high altitude hills between 550 and 750 meters above the see level. Wide open space between the plants for a not intensive agriculture and low yield production. There is no irrigation besides natural rain and snow. The climate provides always high temperature excursion during the warm seasons and lovely breeze. Grass is kept in the vineyards while nature with its vast biodiversity provides the perfect background for grapes to grow and mature. This is further enhanced by the varied composition of the soils: limestone, flint stones, clay, marne, sand and calcareous formed over 50 million years ago along the Appennini mountains. Organic certification is only the first step for wines made of solely our carefully selected and hand-picked grapes, indigenous yeasts, spontaneous fermentation without any temperature control and stainless steel refinement for long time. There is so much more to say about all the eco sustainable procedures aiming for healthy wines that are pure expression of the territory. The size of the property is about 220 hectares: 110 hectares are all forests mostly oaks, beech, walnut, hazelnut, chestnut, wild cherry trees and most important the Sorbo trees. The symbol and the name of our wines is in fact a Sorbo about 100 years old present right in the middle of our Lame del Sorbo vineyards (“Lame” means slippery land). We also planted more hectares of trees in all very steep areas to avoid erosion of the territory. All vineyards are surrounded by forests creating an unpolluted environment where dryfarming and just natural rain and snow will provide the plants for the water needs. 30 hectares are vineyards started planting in 2008 at the rate of about 3 hectares every year for the last 10 years. All vineyards are low yield with 3 meters distance between the plants, not intensive breeding system (2700 plants per hectare). 20 hectares are olive trees. 10 hectares are seasonable crops, fruits and vegetables (indigenous apples trees, pears, tomatoes, peas, beans, lentils, peppers, eggplants, zucchini etc.). 50 hectares remaining are organic wheat senatore cappelli and spelt that we alternate every other year because of our full organic certification.
