Weingut lichti & astroh

We are Freya Lichti & Alex Strohschneider. What began in 2018 as lichti & astroh with four wines in the Palatinate region, we are now proud to call a winery. Since 2022, we have been working as a winemaking couple based in Herxheim am Berg, with 9 hectares of vines in Laumersheim and Leistadt, on soils characterized by massive limestone. The winery has been an Ecovin member since its foundation and is currently converting to organic wine growing. Harvesting is done by hand, the wines ferment spontaneously, remain unfiltered, and are moderately sulfurized. The result is a calm, clear style that highlights the limestone origins.

Freya brings the down-to-earth approach of a family business and a keen eye for organization and sales, underpinned by her international experience. Alex came from theory to practice, deepening his understanding in Geisenheim and shaping the vineyard operations at Dr. Bürklin-Wolf for many years. Together, we think strictly from the vineyard's perspective: meticulous handwork, minimal intervention, time on the lees. This results in wines that are understated yet possess substance.
