Tinnyu田与酒造 is a project of independent winemakers from traditional wineries. Starting from Shangri-La, Yunnan Province in 2021, Tinnyu explores the possibilities of Chinese wines in a fun way, with our professions and sustainable ecology as well as the hands of winemakers, expressing an unique style of Shangri-La wine. In order to maintain the balance of the vineyard's ecosystem and to protect the environment, the soil and the health of the villagers living in the vicinity, we minimize the usage of harmful chemicals such as fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides. Instead, we manage the vineyard by utilizing the biotic components of the ecosystem. We use compost and grow various plants in the vineyard to adjust the trace elements in soils. We believe that circular agriculture and biodynamic farming can help produce higher-quality grapes. In our winemaking process, we minimize human intervention to preserve the authentic flavor of grapes and the birthmark of Shangri-La terroir. Our annually production are around 4,000 bottles.
- Size of their farm: 1 (ha)
- Size of farm under vine: 4500 (ha)
- Not all grapes are dry-farmed. Some are irrigated (Only once during the winter to give vines enough water to grow for the upcoming growing season.).
- All grapes are harvested manually.
