Terra Vitae

TERRA VITAE is the projection of its two souls: Elena and Matteo. It represents exactly who we are today and what we aspire to be, the e/Earth that mixes with our lives.

The project, which has its roots in Rancolfo (a small village north of Perugia, Umbria)  was born in 2019; at the end of 2020 we began to manage our first vineyard.  Today, we look after 3 hectares of old vineyards between 40 and 60 years of age.

 In the vineyard our work is mainly manual, aimed at conserving and improving the fertility of the soil in order to increase humification and help the individual plants find their balance, in fact we use autumn green manures and low quantities of copper and sulfur. As for the work in the winery, we avoid everything that differs from the raw material: the grapes. Besides, we accompany spontaneous fermentations, on their own indigenous yeasts, without any temperature control and by avoiding the use of oenological adjuvants with the exception of minimal doses of So2.
