Sign Of The Vines is a boutique natural wine supplier from Brighton, UK, run by Ben & Katie Smith. Our purpose is simple: friendly, personal service for customers who share our enthusiasm for excellent wines, made naturally by small producers. We source the best natural wines for all buyers and occasions, big or small. Whether you’re a restaurant or pub looking to add stunning natural wines to your menu, or an individual stocking your cellar or choosing wines for a wedding, we would love to research, advise and source for you. Ben has been involved in the natural wine world for 18 years, having initially studied at Plumpton College, Britain’s dedicated Centre of Excellence in wine education, training and research. He moved on to meeting winemakers and learning their craft, and in 2004 set up Small Independent Producers (SIP), becoming the exclusive UK importer for Jacques Lassaigne’s natural Champagne as well as winemakers including Domaine Derrain, Bruno Schueller, Chateau Le Puy, Fred Cossard, & Domaine La Roche Buissiere. But back in 2004, natural wine was unheard of in the UK and gaining an audience was tough. With a young family and a mortgage to pay, Ben put SIP on hold. But his passion for natural wines never went away. After a while he roped me in and we launched a natural wine pop-up in Brighton ([email protected]) last year. The enthusiasm from our local community for the products we sourced and recommended was overwhelming. We realised the time had come for Britain to love natural wines. So we took plunge to create………Sign Of The Vines! We hope you enjoy our natural wines as much as we do.
