Our Wine

'Our Wine' was founded in 2003 by Soliko Tsaishvili and his friends with the aim of reviving the traditions of Georgian winemaking and viticulture, which were on the verge of being forgotten.

Today, we cultivate around 3.1 hectares of vineyards in Georgia’s Kakheti region, within the historically renowned Kardanakhi and Bakurtsikhe micro-zones. Our vineyards are located in some of the finest terroirs: Tsarapi, Akhoebi and Chortauli. These terroirs are located in the Alazani river gorge on the north-eastern slopes of the Gombori mountain ridge at an altitude of 350–500 metres and have a north-eastern or south-eastern exposure.

Our vineyards range in age from 13 to 45 years, with a density of planting ranging from 3,600 to 4,800 vines per hectare. They are dry-farmed without irrigation.

We cultivate only indigenous Georgian grape varieties: Rkatsiteli, Kisi, Khikhvi, Kakhuri Mtsvane, Goruli Mtsvane, Gvinis Tetri, Mtsvivani and Saperavi.

Our cellar, with a total qvevri capacity of 23 tonnes, is located in the village of Bakurtsikhe in the Gurjaani district of Kakheti, in eastern Georgia.

The entire winemaking process takes place in a traditional Georgian cellar using the Kakhetian method. Fermentation, maceration and ageing all occur in underground clay qvevri vessels. Maceration lasts for six months, followed by 12 months of maturation in qvevris before bottling. None of our wines are filtered, sulfited or treated with artificial additives or preservatives.
