Founded in 2012 by Koba Kvatchrelishvili, NAOTARI is one of the leading artisanal wine producers in Georgia, a birthplace of winemaking and a homeland of more than 500 indigenous grape varieties.
Our vineyards are located on the left bank of the Alazani River, north of Chikaani village in Kakheti, a plance known for its dry summers and gravelly soils.
NAOTARI produces natural, raw, qvevri wines, using Georgian grape varieties — Kisi, Rkatsiteli, Khikhvi, and Saperavi — with minimal intervention in the vineyards and the cellar.
Koba is a devotee of biodiversity and sustainable agriculture, using no harmful synthetic pesticides and herbicides in his vineyards. He follows the principles of minimal intervention in his cellar, fermenting wines with indigenous yeasts and restricting additives at any stage of vinification.
NAOTARI produces handcrafted, unfiltered qvevri wines in small batches. All NAOTARI wines are fermented with extended skin contact of up to 6 months.
NAOTARI is a member of the Natural Wine Association in Georgia, and participant of the RAW Wine Fairs in London, New York, Montreal, and Berlin.
We hope you enjoy NAOTARI wines! Gaumarjos!
