Domaine Sainte Croix

At Sainte Croix, we are artisanal wine growing estate situated in the Hautes Corbières area of Southern France, on the border between Languedoc and Roussillon. The domaine is composed of many parcels of vines, often field blends of over 100 years old, for the most part on limestones of different periods, but also on marnes and volcanic outcrops. Our aim is to create tangible expressions of these stunning locations, giving a reality to the abstract concept of terroir; wines of personality and place. We do this using organically-farmed, hand harvested grapes of the highest quality, grown with utmost respect for the vineyard environment. Most of our wines are essentially crafted from Carignan, Syrah and Grenache for our reds, Grenaches Blanc and Gris, Terret Gris and Clairette for our whites, on different sites and soil types. Winemaking, using only natural yeasts involves the fewest possible interventions in the wine to preserve the character of the fruit. Many single vineyard vinifications in each vintage further our understanding of the flavours produced by a certain soil type and/or location. We hope that beyond philosophical discussion and abstraction, our wines bring pleasure, particularly in sharing our passion.

A Sainte Croix, nous sommes une petite exploitation artisanale, située dans les Hautes Corbières, dans le Sud de la France. Le domaine est composé de nombreuses parcelles, souvent de vignes centenaires, pour le plupart sur calcaires, mais aussi sur marnes ou sol volcanique. Notre but est de créer des expressions tangibles de ces endroits fabuleux, qui donne une réalité au concept abstrait de terroir; des vins de personnalité et provenance. Ca passe par des terres conduites en AB, des vendanges manuelles de raisin cultivé avec le maximum de respect pour l'environemment. Le plupart de nos cuvées sont issu de Carignan, Syrah et Grenache pour les rouges, Grenaches Blanc et Gris, Terret Gris et Clairette pour les blancs, sur des terroirs différents. Notre vinification est aux levures indigènes et avec le moins de manipulations possibles afin de préserver l'identité et le profil du fruit. Nombreux vinifications parcellaires nous aident à comprendre le lien entre lieu et caractère. On espère qu'au delà de discussion philosophique, nos vins donnent du plaisir, surtout de partager notre passion.
