Twenty years old, the vineyard lies on clayey, quartz-laden soil.
Located at a 30-km straight shot from the Pacific Coast, the vineyard is nestled in a warm,
temperate climate where the dry season lasts six to eight months out of the year.
Daily temperature differences can be up to 20 degrees, fostering maturation and the sugar
concentration. During the summer months, temperatures can range from 30°C to 10°C.
Color: Reddish purple with violet hues.
Aroma: Te nose reveals a hint of herbal undertones and a strong scent of ripe, macerated cherries gently followed by a trace of green pepper with a chocolate touch.
Taste: Marked acidity and smooth tannins, fruity, with a bitter chocolate finish.
Pairing: Fatty, seasoned fish, ripe cheese, farmhouse sausages, game meat.
Recommendation: Serve at 18°C.
Colchagua Valley, Chile
Wild vineyard in Colchagua Valley, Chile, which never been treated in a traditional way, however they have evolved rather wild and free, without being subjected even to the size or the use of chemicals. During the last sixty years the vine has grown among the original flora of this terroir composed of native trees such as maitenes, culenes, hawthorns and mulberry trees, among others.
Our philosophy is based on the unconditional respect of the environment and especially of the soil where our grapes are produced. For that, the steps of handling of the vine are carried out with the help of the horses as well as traditional tools which make it possible to regulate the vegetation. The harvest is done by hand, in the middle of brambles, wild roses and maitenes, difficult and laborious task because of the specific situation of these vines.
