This is a Cabernet Franc from a carefully selected organic vineyard in Maipo Valley. The grapes were harvested about 2 weeks before the usual harvest in Maipo to preserve it's freshness and acidity. It was de-stemmed and moved to Spanish Clay Tinajas for a 35 days maceration . The wine was then pressed and moved back to the Tinajas, where it has been aging with no temperature control since April. It will be left until approximately December 2019 when it will be bottled without filtration. No sulphur was or will be used at any part of vinification.

About Viña Casalibre

Maipo Valley, Chile

At Casalibre we’ve been working to show Chile’s most exciting face, moving away from the typical commercial, industrialized and monotonous chilean wine. Currently we work with carefully selected organic growers from 4 appellations and make single vineyard wines to represent the diversity of our country.

We want to show the best of each terroir and maximize its expression through the use of less intervention. The less intervention in the vineyard and cellar, the better, and we also like to try alternative fermentation and aging vessels. During the 2019 harvest we started working with clay Tinajas using zero added sulphur. We prefer authentic wines, with personality, rather than standard products created to satisfy conventions.
