Come and have a taste of a wine (on the house!) not available in the UK…
La Commune 2014!
It is available in very, very few locations worldwide and for tonight a single magnum is available chez nous thanks to our Severine!
Invented over a glass of wine last summer, it is the result of a collaboration between a bunch of buddies: Charles Dagand & Alice Bouvot (l’Octavin), Emilie & Alexis Porteret (les Bodines), Etienne Thiébaud (Cavarodes), Raphaël Monnier (Ratapoil), Jean-Baptiste Menigoz (Les Bottes Rouges), Renaud Bruyère & Adeline Houillon. A “cuvée de copains” as they call it. “The idea was simple: each of us would donate 10 cases of grapes, whatever variety we fancied and whenever we wanted to… As harvest progressed, whenever someone had grapes to spare they’d turn up at l’Octavin and would fill up the joint vat. There were wholebunch reds alongside destemmed whites. The only grape variety that doesn’t feature in the cuvée is poulsard.” (Read more online – in French – here).
