Tunia is a boutique winery dedicated exclusively to natural wines. It was established in 2008 in the Val di Chiana area, in Tuscany.
Our philosophy is 100% natural with no compromises; the goal is to offer unique wines that fully reflect our grapes, the land and the vintage.
By natural wine, we mean:
“More than organic” in the vines: we only use eco-friendly substances and say no to many additives that, although permitted in organic agriculture, contain synthetic agents.
Artisan-crafted in the cellar: we pursue natural vinification keeping our intervention at the minimum level: only native yeasts and no clarification, filtration and any attempt at all to stabilize the wines.
Patient “in the bottle”: we release our wines only three, five or seven years after the harvest. There is no rush, we are happy to wait to achieve the desired quality without any shortcut.
From our 15 hectares of vines we produce the following wines: two different reds (100% cabernet sauvignon and 90% sangiovese, colorino e canaiolo), an orange wine (trebbiano and vermentino), a rosè (100% cabernet sauvignon), a sparkling re-fermented orange (100% trebbiano), a passito – our sweet wine (trebbiano) and a grappa (from vin santo’s vinacce).
Completes our offer an outstanding olive oil made with olives from the estate.
