Lechevalier is a vibrant new neighbourhood wine bar and shop at 85 Tower Bridge Road, London, serving great wines and fine cheeses, bread and charcuterie to eat in or take home. The man behind the new venture is Christophe Lechevalier, who helped establish Artisan Foods in 2000 and sold wine at Borough Market for more than 15 years. Borough Market has been a second home for Christophe and his passion for food and wine - and skill at introducing it to others - have led him to put his name above the door. The concept is simple. Great wine, great food and, most importantly, great service from a team who know what they are talking about. They have spent months creating an exclusive, dynamic list, largely made up of organic, biodynamic and natural wines, from small producers and lesser known regions, always with quality and accessibility in mind. It is the same with bread, cheese and charcuterie. Business partner Klaus Kuhnke, of Artisan Foods, provides bread, baked daily in East London. Charcuterie and cheese are sourced directly from producers, from Italy to Hackney. Although French through and through, Christophe has lived in London for 30 years. He embraces the city's multicultural nature. Lechevalier is not a French wine bar. It is a place where quality will always be more important than nationality. Wine, cheese, charcuterie and bread, honestly sourced, prepared and shared: A simple story, but one Lechevalier believes is well worth telling.
